Cochise County Mugshot Posting
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office does not currently post the public "Mugshot" and "Inmate List" on its webpage. The official Sheriff Office Public Information page says the office stopped posting those items after legal review of Houston v. Maricopa County. It also says booking photographs will no longer accompany social media or press releases. That statement is the key local rule for Cochise County jail mugshots.
This does not mean every booking photograph has vanished from government records. A booking photo is an intake identification record. It may exist inside law-enforcement or jail files with a name, physical description, booking number, arresting agency, and charge information. The public difference is that Cochise County no longer offers an online mugshot gallery or public roster profile photo. Requests now go through sheriff records channels and can be reviewed for privacy, safety, legal, victim, juvenile, or investigative limits.

The research file ties the local change to Houston v. Maricopa County, a 2024 Ninth Circuit decision involving government online publication of arrestee photographs. Cochise County's response was practical: stop posting mugshots and inmate lists on the sheriff webpage, and stop attaching booking photos to social media or press releases. Booking photos can carry a strong public stigma before a case has been resolved. The local practice now treats them as records that may be requested, not as routine web content. Arizona Mugshot Public Records Law
Arizona public-records law starts from access but also recognizes legal limits. A.R.S. § 39-121 says public records and other matters in the custody of public officers are open to inspection during office hours unless another law limits access. A.R.S. § 39-121.01 requires custodians to maintain records and promptly furnish copies, printouts, photographs, or inspection subject to fees and legal limits. Those statutes do not require Cochise County to publish booking photos in an online gallery.

Cochise County Mugshot Removal Limits
There is no current Cochise County web mugshot gallery removal step because the sheriff no longer posts the gallery. If a requested government record is wrong, the source agency or court record should be checked. If a third-party page displays an old booking photo, that page is not the county's official roster. Arizona's commercial mugshot-website statutes may matter if an operator uses criminal justice records to solicit payment or value to remove or revise the record.

Federal and ICE Mugshot Differences
No BOP prison or dedicated ICE detention center was located in Cochise County in the official research.
